FOR ADOPTION: VERO is a stunning 7 month old female looking for a calm and loving home. This girl was trapped on a. Rural property in Smithers along with her sister (#NWASVega), mother and presumed father. They were all quite feral when they were initially caught but thanks to time, loves and lots of tube treats they have come around to the idea of human handling. Vero is a sweet and gentle girl that loves to be gently pet and snuggled. She’s a little more cautious than her sister but just as well. Vero would be happiest in a home with calm energy, mostly like aged 10+. She loves other cats and does tend to be on the submissive side when making new buddies but does like to play once she knows they are safe. Vero has had very few interactions with dogs so far in her life but she is open to the idea of sharing space with a calm and friendly dog. Vero is quite happy indoor only and would love to continue with that lifestyle. Vero is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. All animals are vet checked before adoption. This usually includes deworming, revolution (for mites and fleas) and vaccinations. Adult animals are all spayed or neutered before adoption and all puppies/kittens are required to be spayed or neutered as soon as they are old enough. Potential adopters must be willing to travel to Smithers to pick up their new pet.
To apply for a pet please complete an adoption application online (www.nwas.ca) or download and return it to NWAS by email (info@nwas.ca) or mail (Box 3064, Smithers, BC, V0J 2N0) if your application is approved we will then set up a meeting.

In addition to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing pets in need we:
Run a Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP): We work with Babine Pet Hospital and BV Vet Clinic to provide financial help to individuals and families who cannot afford the full cost of spaying or neutering their pets
Spay and Neuter Education
Humane Animal Education and visits to local schools
Pet health care counselling; training referrals
Complimentary lost and found postings on our website and Facebook page
Provide free feral mousers to responsible farmers upon request
