My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charolette is one of 18 cats and kittens who were rescued from death row at a North Carolina shelter. These animals were scheduled to be euthanized the following day, but fortunately, they were saved just in time. Charolette made the journey to safety along with her four nursing kittens.

Charolette’s gentle and nurturing nature truly stands out. She is so sweet that she even welcomed and cared for another motherless kitten, nursing and loving it as her own. It is hard to imagine that such a loving cat could have been at risk of being put down.

Since June 2016, Charolette has been waiting with us for her forever home. She is an independent cat who will thrive in an environment where she is given the patience and love she needs to adjust. With the right family, Charolette will become a loving and loyal companion.

If you are interested in meeting Charolette, please visit our website at kvckr.com and submit an adoption application.

More about this shelter

Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill cat shelter that became a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation in 2000. We are dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and neglect towards cats by providing shelter to homeless cats until we can find them permanent homes of their own. Necessary veterinary treatment, including spaying, neutering, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations are obtained for them. Our cats and kittens are housed in 4 buildings in a mostly cage free, home-like environment, which aids in the adoption process. Being free to run around a room or an entire building allows our cats/kittens true personalities to be more easily determined by both our volunteers and our adopters. We also added fencing between the buildings, and cat doors so that the cats have access to totally enclosed outdoor patios. We have tried to create a pleasant environment as they await their forever homes. Whether you are looking for a very young kitten, a teenager, a young adult cat, or a senior cat, KVCKR is sure to have a cat or two for you
