My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Caesar – A True Survivor with a Heart of Gold

Caesar has been through a lot—but this resilient pup has come out the other side stronger and sweeter than ever. A heartworm survivor, Caesar is now healthy and ready to find a forever home where he can finally relax and be loved.
Loyal to the core, Caesar lives for human connection. He bonds deeply with his person and would thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around often—he just wants to be by your side. Because of his past, Caesar does best as the only pet, where he can soak up all the love and attention he truly deserves.

About Caesar:
4 years old and 41 lbs
Heartworm survivor
Deeply loyal and affectionate
Would do best as the only pet
Ideal home: calm, consistent, and someone who works from home

Ready to be your shadow and best friend

If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will love you unconditionally, Caesar is ready to be your one and only.

About The Sato Project:
The Sato Project has been working hard since 2011 to rescue and rehabilitate the stray dogs of Puerto Rico, known locally as “satos.” To date, we’ve saved over 8,000 dogs and are committed to stopping the overpopulation crisis with spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Your adoption helps us continue this vital work.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The Sato Project is dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs from Puerto Rico. There are currently an estimated 500,000 stray dogs roaming the island’s streets and beaches. With no access to food, fresh water, or veterinary care, many of these dogs are living daily lives of severe suffering. The municipal shelter system is drastically overwhelmed, with only five shelters across all 78 of the island’s municipalities. These shelters have a combined euthanasia rate of over 94%. For thousands of stray and abandoned dogs in the area in which we operate, we are their only hope.

More about this rescue

In order to meet our adoptable dogs you need to first complete our Adoption Application which can be found here: http://www.thesatoproject.org/applicationform. We will then get in touch to process your application and set up a virtual meet and greet with our dogs in Puerto Rico. We will then let you know when your Sato will be making their flight to the mainland!

Our adoption fee is $650. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated and microchipped.
