My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Ellie and Maki are a bonded pair and looking for their forever home together! **

Meet Ellie and her best friend Maki—a bonded pair of calm, gentle buns looking for a forever home where they can enjoy life side by side. Ellie is the steady, quiet heart of the duo, a mature lady who loves soft explorations, bunny-safe chew toys, and the occasional binky when the moment feels just right.

Both girls enjoyed free-roam time in their previous home, and with their years of experience, they’ve likely mastered the art of litterbox etiquette—making them excellent candidates for a free-roam lifestyle. They’ve already found their perfect partner in each other, so now they’re just “hopping” for a human who will welcome them as the bonded pair they are.

If you`re looking for gentle companionship and two sweet souls to fill your home with peaceful bunny charm, Ellie and Maki may be the hoppiest addition you’ll ever make.

Come meet this lovely duo and see if they’re the perfect match for your family!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
