Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wario is a handsome, four-month-old male kitten who is definitely a special project for a seasoned, patient adopter. Like his brother Pants, Wario arrived as a stray, but he is currently the more undersocialized of the pair.
Wario is what we affectionately call a spicy kitten. He is very timid and will hiss or spit to communicate that he is uncomfortable and needs space. Due to his current level of fear, he is not a cat you can handle or pet much.
However, even the spiciest kitten has a weakness, and for Wario, it’s delicious Churru tube treats! While he loves these snacks, his need for distance means any interaction must be on his terms.
Wario will need a lot of time and a massive amount of patience to feel safe in a home environment. He will require a quiet home where he can have a small space to himself to acclimate. It is important for potential adopters to understand that Wario may never become a lap cat or a cuddly companion, though we can certainly hope he warms up with more confidence. His success will be measured by small steps, like eating in front of you or choosing to rest in the open.
Wario is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and was given a flea/tick preventative. If you have experience with timid cats and are prepared for a journey where the profound reward is seeing a frightened soul finally feel safe, Wario is waiting for you.
If you’re interested in this sensitive little guy, feel free to reach out to us at 920-733-1717, adopt@foxvalleypets.org, or stop in during our open hours!
