Double Cheeks is a charming and lively 2-year-old male rabbit who is ready for adventure! Double Cheeks and his brother Fritter came to the shelter due to their owners feeling they didn`t have enough time and resources for them. Double Cheeks is neutered, microchipped, and was given a flea/tick preventative.
Double Cheeks is an energetic boy, incredibly bold, and rarely hesitates to be the first to check out a new area or enrichment toy. He is very playful and loves to zoom around and show off his happy hops. While Double Cheeks is full of confidence, he can be a little shy when first meeting new people. A patient approach with some quiet time and treats will help him quickly warm up and show off his wonderful personality.
Double Cheeks does have one specific need to keep him happy and safe: he has a strong desire to chew, which is natural for a rabbit. His favorite targets are carpet and wood trim. His adopter must be prepared to rabbit-proof his living space completely and provide him with an abundance of safe, appropriate chew toys like hay, cardboard, and untreated wood blocks to redirect this behavior.
Although Double Cheeks and Fritter were raised together, they unfortunately ended up not enjoying each other`s company in their previous home. They may do well with a different neutered bunny friend, or a female friend instead. They were nervous of the dog in their previous home and have not been around cats. We always recommend doing slow, controlled introductions that our adoption staff is happy to go over with you.
If you are looking for a confident and playful companion and are prepared for proper rabbit-proofing, Double Cheeks is waiting for you! If you`re interested, feel free to reach out to us at 920-733-1717, adopt@foxvalleypets.org, or stop in during our open hours!
