Animal Profile: Huey was dumped at a shelter in California as a stray, but it is likely someone just decided they didn't want him anymore. Huey was sweet with the staff and so playful with other dogs, but was still at risk for euthanasia due to overcrowding. A foster stepped up and said yes, so Huey got his freedom ride to Seattle and is ready for a new home!
Foster Update: Huey is an 8-month-old, 25lb “lab mix” who came to us from a California shelter, and he is every bit as sweet and spirited as he is adorable. With his oversized satellite ears and bright, expressive eyes, Huey takes in everything around him and never misses a word you say.
Huey is currently in the care of an experienced foster who has been helping him build confidence in the big world. He’s been getting regular outings to places like Home Depot for exposure and training, and this smart little guy is thriving. He loves to learn, aims to please, and is picking up new skills quickly.
Like many puppies, Huey is still working on his mouthing and play-biting. He has already made great progress, but he’ll need a family willing to continue setting consistent boundaries as he grows. He’s doing wonderfully with his house training, is fully crate trained, and absolutely loves the company of both people and other dogs.
If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, eager-to-learn pup to grow with your family, Huey might be your guy!
