My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET Woody!

This good kitty is very sweet but can be a bit fearful at first. We think they would thrive in a quiet adult-only household, with an adopter who is patient and can give them the sense of calm and security they need to break out of their shell. If this kitty sounds like a good fit for you and your home, please stop by to meet them!

Woody is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick preventative, has been neutered, microchipped, and examined by our vet team.

For more information on Woody or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

We require the following as part of the adoption process:
* Adopter must be 18 years of age or older
* Have a conversation with an ARL adoption counselor
* A photo of the cage your pet will live in, if adopting a small animal or bird

More about this shelter

Pets are family. This belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

We are the first female-founded animal welfare organization in Massachusetts and are proud to carry on a legacy of kindness and compassion, helping more than 20,000 animals annually since 1899.

Recognized for our innovative, award-winning programs that go beyond sheltering, we address the root causes of the issues facing animals and the people who love them.

By partnering with communities, we help animals heal and thrive, keep pets and people together, and protect animals from harm.

Because there is no government funding for this important work, animals must rely on people like you to get the care they need, when they need it most, 365 days a year.
