Stanny’s story begins in July 2014, when he was pulled from Devore Shelter at just three months old—truly in the nick of time. Once restored to health, he traveled to Seattle later that year and was adopted by a young man new to the city. Renamed Stan, he and his person shared a deep bond for years until a major change in their living situation brought new people and two younger cats into the home. Sensitive and loyal, Stan struggled with the sudden shift and, unable to adapt, was returned to us last year at ten years old. True to our motto, “Once a Kitty Devore cat, always a Kitty Devore cat,” we welcomed him back with open arms.
After a short adjustment period, Stan has flourished in foster care. He’s an affectionate, talkative, and super playful boy who loves human companionship and enjoys being part of a person’s daily routine. While he prefers people to other pets, he has gotten along well with his foster siblings with proper introductions. He can be a little particular about food, but he eats enough to keep his long, lanky frame in good shape. His health is excellent and well-documented. Stan knows his name, comes when called, responds to a finger snap, and shows his affection through enthusiastic head-bumps and happy tummy-kneading when he’s truly content.
Now this wonderful young senior is ready for a forever home where he can be loved completely and securely. All Kitty Devore Rescue foster cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for FeLV and FIV, treated for internal and external parasites, and microchipped. In addition, all observable and diagnosable medical and behavioral concerns are addressed prior to adoption clearance.
Our adoption fee is $200.00 for one cat, and $375 for two.
Please Note the Following Adoption Policies:
• We reserve the right to deny any adoption application at our discretion.
• Most of our foster cats are cared for in Southern California. However, we also have foster homes in Northern California, Seattle, WA, and Kalispell, MT. Before applying, please confirm that the kitty you're interested in is located within your state or a nearby supported region.
• With the exception of our fosters located in Seattle and Kalispell, we are unable to adopt to applicants residing outside of California. Please understand that we do not ship cats—our adoptions are local and personal, not transactional.
• Every adopted kitty will receive a personalized adoption box by mail within three weeks of the official adoption date. This box includes a selection of goodies for your new companion, as well as a complete set of veterinary records detailing the care they received while in our foster program.
• We initiate the transfer of microchip registration to the adopter 30 days after the official adoption date.
• We offer a full refund of the adoption fee if the cat is returned to our care within 30 days of the official adoption date. After 30 days, adoption fees are non-refundable.
• Should a medical issue arise within 30 days of the official adoption date, please contact your Kitty Devore representative immediately for guidance and support.
