Finley is a loving 9-year-old Havanese sweetheart looking for his forever home.
He loves attention and warms up to new people quickly. He tends to favor a female fur mom but does do well with men also. With men, he can be a little skittish from time to time but warms up to them within minutes.
He is an ex show dog so is great with commands and does best with praise.
He does well with his two foster fur brothers and loves going for walks with them. He has been doing very well with house training, just needs to find his voice at the door but does let his foster mom know when he has to go.
*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.
Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
