Meet Button, a 2-year-old Labrador mix with a stunning light chocolate coat and an even sweeter soul.
When Button first arrived at the shelter, the big changes in his life left him feeling nervous and unsure—but day by day, this brave boy has been blossoming. With each new friend he meets and every kind word he hears, Button’s tail wags a little harder and his eyes shine a little brighter.
Button is the perfect blend of calm and playful. He enjoys quiet moments, soaking up gentle affection, and simply being near his people—but he also has a fun, joyful side that comes out once he feels comfortable. He walks beautifully on leash and loves going out for strolls, taking in the world with curiosity and growing confidence.
Most of all, Button is a companion dog through and through. He just wants someone patient, loving, and ready to give him the reassurance and stability he deserves. With a little time and kindness, Button will reward you with loyalty, affection, and that special kind of love only a rescued dog can give.

Additional adoption info
We encourage everyone interested in adopting a new pet to come visit the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter to view the wonderful selection of cats, dogs and small animals we have available for adoption. When you see an animal you are interested in, come in as soon as possible as we are first come, first serve and are unable to place HOLDS on pets over the phone.
Speak to an Adoption Counselor at our Adoption Center regarding your interest to adopt and they will advise you of the Hold and Adoption process. All pets adopted from our facility are microchipped, spayed or neutered and vaccinated for Rabies prior to being released to the adopter. This is required by Texas State Law for any animal adopted from an animal shelter or rescue group. We do allow out of area adoptions as long as the selected pet is old enough to receive these services prior to being released to the adopter.
