Rico is a 3.5 year old, 7 lb Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix. Breed mix is just our best guess since he was found as a stray. People are shocked at the cute little dogs that are found as strays, but it happens all the time! Rico is friendly with the small dog in his foster home, but he is untested with large dogs. He loves squeaky toys, interactive play time, and burrowing under the covers. One of his fav things is taking long walks. When foster mom says "Outside" or "Walk" he does a little dance of excitement! Foster mom nicknamed him Billy because he is such a climber. He will climb up and perch on her shoulders or on the back of the couch. Rico needs a home where his people are with him most of the time, and he will reward them with loyalty and affection. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Additional adoption info
All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.
Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats
Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs
The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.
Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.
