My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Heather! This fluffy girl likes to keep you guessing. From one angle she looks like a tabby but when you turn her upside down, her bright orange calico marks shine bright. She knows that being a tabico is unique but doesn’t make a big to-do about it.

The most playful of her siblings, Heather’s love language is toys. She loves every toy she meets. She’s often carrying plushy mice around in her mouth, proud and happy. Being toy-focused, Heather could probably be taught to do puzzles as she grows.

Building her toy empire, Heather is a busy girl with much to do! But her independence doesn’t mean she isn’t sweet. She’s extremely affectionate, and loves to snuggle against her foster mom’s hip, purring.

Due to her young age, Heather must be adopted with one of her siblings; KRLA-A-87368 Thistle, KRLA-A-87369 Alder, KRLA-A-87372 Sage, KRLA-A-87373 Jade or join a home that already has a young playful cat to be her friend.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
