My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Orson — your future one-eyed snuggle king.

I’m a brown tabby boy who’s been through a lot, including losing an eye, but trust me… I see all the important things just fine: comfy beds, gentle hands, and, most importantly, you.

I’m a calm, sweet guy who really blossoms once I’ve had my meal. After food, I turn into a full-on lovebug. I’ll trot over for pets, lean in for scritches, and curl right up on you. Honestly? Once I’m snuggled in, I prefer not to get up. Ever. Being cozy is my calling.

Like many cats who’ve had hard chapters, I am careful about who handles me. Because of that, I’d do best in a home without young children, or with people who can read cat body language. I just want a real home, a soft blanket, and someone who understands me!

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, one-eyed companion who just wants to snuggle his way into your heart (and your lap), I’m your guy. Come meet me — I’m ready for my forever home!

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
