Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ruby 💎🐾 a gentle, people loving senior who wears her heart right on her whiskers. She was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her, and she has handled the transition with quiet grace and lots of affection.
From her kennel, Ruby may greet you with soft meows and a hopeful walk to the front to seek your attention. In the playroom, she walks around comfortably. Left alone she'll cozy up under a cabinet comes right back out upon your return, eager for affection and happy to follow you 💕.
Ruby is diabetic, diagnosed shortly before coming to the shelter, and our medical team has since run bloodwork. She is not currently on insulin and is managed with a prescription medical diet. Her future care will need to be directed by a private veterinarian. Some cats may eventually need insulin or additional medications, while others may not. She's also overweight, so her long-term success will depend on an adopter committed to weight management, regular vet visits, and supporting her as a senior diabetic cat 🐾.
If you are looking for a sweet, loyal companion and are prepared for the responsibility of caring for a senior diabetic cat, Ruby is ready to return that commitment with gentle devotion and constant company 💖.
