My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings from the Crypt! My name is Pepperoni, and despite my worried expression, I'm a lover and a friend to all. My journey to Animal Aid has been full of bumps and twists, but I'm so ready to retire for good with my new family. I originally grew up in California and traveled to Oregon with a good samaritan who found me living outside, severely neglected. I was covered in dense, painful mats, and I had not had any vet care in quite some time. When I was finally rescued and got the care I needed, a loud heart murmur was discovered. I have since gone to the cardiologist and started treatment for a degenerative heart condition. This means I will need to take my heart meds for the rest of my life.

I'm already feeling so much better and have been enjoying new adventures. I'm great with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids who can take things slow with me at first. I love to cuddle up with a cozy blanket and my favorite person. Even though I'm in my senior years, I still enjoy going on walks and seeing new places, though you may need to carry me up and down stairs. I'm fully potty trained and don't mind being alone for short periods of time.

I'm preparing for a dental to get my bad teeth removed, so I will be ready to go to a new home when my mouth is feeling better.

Ready to meet the peaceful BFF of your dreams? I'm in a foster home, so please fill out an application to visit me.
