My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweetheart of a kitten, has gone through alot in his short life. He came into us in sept with a broken hind leg, weighing in only a bit over 1 kg. We were considering amputation initially but he was too small to go through such a big surgery, so we cage rested him until he got bigger. The cage rest was helping and his bone was slowly forming a callus, which is the bone trying to repair itself. We decided we were happy with the healing process and would give him more time to heal and that he could keep his leg. Fast forward, many weeks and we are medically clearing him for adoption. We do not want him to be an outside cat because their are too many dangers and potential injuries possible. We would also recommend to try to limit him jumping from high heights for the next few months as well. This guy would love to have another animal in the home, he is very gregarious and a big purr monster.

Go meet their pets

The City of Calgary is once again adopting cats and dogs at the Animal Services Centre in addition to transferring adoptable pets to our partner agencies, to help animals find their furever homes faster.

Shelters and rescue agencies are currently at capacity with the overpopulation of homeless animals. The City reinstated its adoption program to assist with this crisis by making adoptable animals available by appointment. Once a pet is deemed adoptable, they are available either at the Animal Services Centre or one of our partner agencies: the Calgary Humane Society, or the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS).

Adoptions are available by appointment only by calling 311 or by visiting Animal Services. Appointment are available from 10:00am thru 5:30pm (this may change and is subject to availability) Monday through Saturday. Adoption cost is $169 + GST for cats and $225 + GST for dogs. Adoption fees include medical and dental care, vaccinations, microchip, City of Calgary licence, and spaying/neutering.

Anyone interested in adopting a pet is encouraged to check out the adoptable animals on Calgary.ca/pets and at the links below.
