Firstly, Beau is one impressive dog. He started his life in New Mexico living outside for
the first 4-5 months of life. Sunday, 11/30, was the first time he ever wore a collar, slept
indoors, and used a crate. By Thursday 12/04, he’s wearing a collar, sleeping through
the night, and loving his crate as his safe space! Also, outside of some accidents on day
one, he has been consistently peeing and pooping outdoors – yay! Beau’s superpower
is that he continues to push himself outside of his comfort zone to learn new things.
With all the newness, Beau is still learning many life skills, including leash training,
adapting to unfamiliar sounds, self-regulation, and generally interacting with the world.
Since he had a harder start to life than most, Beau needs a family with patience and the
ability to spend time training. Yet, he’s an incredibly quick learner and food motivated.
Beau learned “sit” in 2 days! Impressive. Overall, Beau is a brave boy, who is curious
about the world and comes out of his shell more every day.
His foster mom thinks the world of him and is incredibly proud to see his progress. She
thinks any family that rescues him is in for a treat. Once he opens up, he’ll steal your
heart with snuggles and affection.
