Spud was rescued from the West Valley Animal Shelter after being surrendered by his suspected former owner. He arrived with a microchip, an unkempt and matted coat and long overgrown nails — but despite his rough condition, Spud greeted shelter staff with a wagging tail and a happy heart.
Estimated to be around 10 years old and weighing 10 lbs, Spud has had his beauty makeover and is a spunky little gentleman who’s settling beautifully into his foster home. His cheerful spirit shines through, and he’s already won everyone over with his sweet, happy go lucky demeanor. He even enjoyed his very first pup cup the moment he left the shelter, slurping it down in minutes!
Spud got an A+ on his bloodwork, his heart and lungs sound good and he’s got one tooth left in his mouth! He does have a sensitive trachea if too much pressure is applied in that area. Spud is pee pad trained and loves playing with his toys, especially with his ball. He happily keeps himself entertained and he loves going for adventures and walks too.
Spud is now getting the care he’s long overdue and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family who will treasure him. He’s the perfect mix of mellow senior charm and joyful personality.

If both parties agree, a meet and greet can be set up so that you can see the pet in person. These will typically take place in the adopters home so that the pet may meet the other family members and pets in the household.
