My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently located at our Evansville, IN location

Meet Harley, a 4-year-old, 60 lb Lab mix with a bright smile and an even brighter personality. This sweet girl is wonderful with kids and gets along great with other dogs, making her an easy addition to many families. Cats, however, aren’t her ideal companions—she’d do best in a feline-free home.

Harley loves exploring the yard and proudly considers herself an expert in squirrel patrol. When she’s not keeping the backyard critters in check, she’s happy to soak up attention, spend time with her people, and enjoy the simple things in life.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog with plenty of charm and a playful spirit, Harley may be your perfect match.
Apply at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
