My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maude! Maude is a sweetheart born in 2023.

Maude showed up on the front porch of her current fosters house and immediately charmed them. She was friendly, sweet, very skinny, and flea ridden. Her fosters recognized the TNR ear tip, indicating that a local group had gotten her spayed. They left their house for the day and couldn`t stop thinking about her. It was clear she had stopped being fed by humans, and had been left to fend for herself. At two years old, she was just over 6 pounds and very dirty. When her fosters returned from their day out, she was still on the porch, so they immediately adopted her then and there.

When she was taken in, she was immediately put on a refeeding schedule, flea treated, vaccinated and quarantined before exposure to the 6 other cats in the home. Her fosters had every intention of adding her to the pride, and were devastated to encounter personality conflicts that made it clear she would not become a permanent resident. She spends her nights in her own little bedroom and gets carried to her fosters` home offices during the day for some socialization and enrichment, even if that enrichment is just day napping on a soft bed in a nest of blankets. Maude has become the ideal indoor house cat in just a few short weeks, and will continue to grow into a loyal and loving house cat with the right forever home.

Maude is like a young horse in a cats body. She is gangly and goofy, and has residual feral quirks that are slowly disapating as she spends more time indoors. She`s a purr machine when she wakes up in the morning, loving scratches on top of her head and on her cheeks. Maude is nearly always game for a play session with a wand toy. She will run back and forth over and over again to chase the string side or the stick side, with a slight preference for the stick side. Maude is vetted and has excellent litter box manners. She makes her fosters laugh with her droopy left eye and her ever questioning head tilt. Though dog- and horse-like in spirit, Maude is still a sweet, sassy cat at heart.
