My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Glen — Our Lovably Grumpy Grandpa 🐾❤️

Glen is an older terrier mix with the vibe of a retired old man who just wants his recliner, his stories, and absolutely no nonsense. He’s not much for exercise (who needs it at his age?), but he does enjoy a short, slow stroll to keep up appearances—and to judge the neighborhood squirrels.

He may grumble, he may huff, he may give you the classic “really?” look when you pick him up…but beneath that scruffy grandpa exterior is a heart of pure gold. Glen is sweet, loyal, and secretly loves a good cuddle—he just pretends he hates the idea.

Glen is looking for a calm home where he can spend his golden years exactly how he wants: comfy, cozy, and with a human who appreciates the charm of a slightly cranky old man with impeccable comedic timing.

If you love a dog with personality (and opinions), come meet Glen. He’s ready to be your scruffy little shadow. 💛🐾

If you are interested in meeting Glen, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours).
If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

If you are interested in a pet that is available in our shelter, you will need to submit an adoption application to be considered.
We are receiving multiple applications on every pet. If we do not call you to do an adoption, please do not consider it a rejection. We simply have a lot of applications coming in and very limited staff.
Adoption Applications do not place holds on pets, nor do we do pre-adoptions.
Rather than doing first-come-first-serve adoptions, Newberg Animal Shelter considers all applications and chooses the home that is the best fit for that particular pet. We want the adoptions to be happy and successful for the family and the pets.
Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, and at least their first set of vaccines, and microchip.
