My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Egbert, our perfectly plump orange-and-white loaf of love. Perfect for the cold season, Egbert is soft, warm, round, and happiest when food is involved. This gentleman is so wonderfully docile, you can scoop him up and carry him like a football, and he’ll just blink at you like, “Sure, this is fine.” He’s a bit shy at first, but in the most endearing, “I’m observing from my bread-loaf bunker” kind of way.

Give him cheek scratches or a sprinkle of catnip, though, and Egbert transforms into a purring, rolling cinnamon bun. He’s never aggressive—just delightfully aloof, like a polite little emperor who’s still deciding whether you’re worthy of his royal belly. If you want a gentle, goofy companion who doubles as living décor, Egbert is your guy.

As cute as his story is, Egbert had a rough past: As an outside cat, he had been on our radar for months, being cared for by kind neighbors. Unfortunately, when they asked us for help, he disappeared for months. But we didn't give up, and neither did Egbert and his kind caretakers. We finally found him again and brought him inside just as the weather turned.

He's a young a healthy boy—1.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, free of fleas and parasites, and negative for FIV and FeLV. He's in a foster home with another boy cat and has been completely easygoing.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters first fill out an adoption application, after which they can visit our animals in their foster homes. If they would like to adopt and their application is approved, they then complete an adoption contract. We also ask for an adoption fee to help us continue our work.
