My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pebbles is currently in a foster home , please call 239-332-0364 to book an appointment to meet her.

Meet Pebbles! 🐾💗 Pebbles is a precious 13-year-old Shih Tzu with a lively spirit, a gentle heart, and the sweetest little face. This senior sweetheart may be a golden girl, but she still has plenty of pep in her step and so much love to give.

Pebbles qualifies for our Silver Paws VIP program, which helps support senior adopters and senior pets—making it even easier for her to find the happy, comfortable retirement home she truly deserves.

Pebbles will need lifelong medication (eye drops) twice a day because she has dry eye, but it doesn't slow her down! She also recently had 3 masses removed from the skin on her abdomen, but they were non-cancerous and proved to only be a nuisance that have been taken care of!

Pebbles loves being close to her people, so we are looking for an adopter who will be able to be home with her most days. She also loves walks and treats! She has historically been an only pet, but she appears to do well with other pets in the home as well.

Pebbles is currently enjoying the freedom of a foster home, so if you'd like to meet her please call to schedule an appointment!

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
