My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alaska, a sweet and gentle boy whos finally getting the second chance he deserves. After a rough start, hes discovering how wonderful life can be with humans who love him. Dont let his bad hair day fool you-beneath that lopsided trim is one of the most loving dogs you will meet. Alaska has done great with kids and other dogs, always eager to make a new friend. His foster family says hes potty trained and does well on car rides, too!

Alaskas favorite place is right by your side, soaking up affection and offering quiet companionship. He is learning quickly that sofas are soft, chewies are yummy, and humans can be trusted. Alaska is ready for a family who will cherish him as much as he will them.

More about this shelter

Richmond Animal League (RAL) is committed to saving lives by giving hope, help, and loving homes to animals in need. Our vision: All cats and dogs are in a loving home with access to the support they need to thrive.

RAL has been committed to saving the lives of animals and finding loving homes for pets for over 45 years. Since 1979, we’ve worked with area shelters to provide temporary housing, medical treatment, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and loving care to tens of thousands of pets who were then adopted into new homes.
