My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Soot is a gentle, soft-spoken sweetheart with a heart as warm as her velvety fur. She may be a little shy at first, but give her a moment and she’ll blossom into the most affectionate little companion. Once she feels safe, she adores gentle attention, leaning in for pets and soaking up all the love she can get.

Playful at heart, Miss Soot loves her toys just as much as her snuggles. She’s soft, elegant, and full of quiet charm, the kind of kitty who brings calm joy to any home. If you’re looking for a sweet, pretty girl who will reward your patience with endless affection, Miss Soot might just be your perfect match.

Our cat adoption fee is $110 and includes their spay/neuter surgery, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can find our adoption questionnaire at https://agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or you can stop by to see us Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We have a short questionnaire that can be filled out before or during the meet and greet. We do not use the questionnaire to "approve".

2.

Interview

We utilize conversational adoption. This may happen during the meet and greet or via phone before a meet and greet.

3.

Meet the Pet

4.

Pay Fee

Our cat adoption fee is $110, $150 if you adopt a pair, and our dog adoption fee is $150.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

6.

Take the Pet Home

You can bring your own carrier or we can provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $5.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is meant to reduce barriers to adoption. We have a simple questionnaire that does not determine if the adopter is "approved" or "denied" and then we have a conversation about their lifestyle, home environment, and what they are looking for in a pet.

Go meet their pets

Come meet our cats and dogs Tuesday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm in our open-concept adoption space! Here, you can sit and spend time with our kitties in a relaxed environment to get to know each personality. We have a meet and greet room for our doggies, so you can spend time with them in a larger space or walk with them outside!
