My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Rip Van Winkle — the queen of surprise attacks and certified master of mischief! This playful girl has a hilarious spicy streak and loves to keep her people on their toes. Whether she’s sneak-attacking your hands or pouncing on your feet when you least expect it, she brings endless entertainment and joy.

At first glance, she looks like a classic black-and-white kitten — but catch her in the sunlight and you’ll see beautiful flecks of orange and brown shimmering through her coat. She’s truly a little work of art!

Rip Van Winkle currently lives in a full, happy household with an 80-lb German Shepherd, a 28-lb Dachshund, and four other cats. She holds her own beautifully and navigates the pack like a pro! She has also been deeply loved and well socialized by two kids, making her a confident, people-friendly kitty with a big personality.

If you’re looking for a spirited, playful companion who brings laughter, love, and just a touch of harmless chaos to your day, Miss Rip Van Winkle may be your purr-fect match!

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Davie County is a non-profit 501c3 group seeking to make a difference in the lives of animals in Davie County and surrounding areas. The Humane Society obtained tax-exempt status in late 1998 and since then has endeavored to improve conditions for animals at the local animal shelter, raise awareness in the community about the need of spay/neuter of animals, and place numerous previously unwanted animals into loving homes. The Humane Society’s long-term goal is to eliminate the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Davie County.
