Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ethel — The Sweet Senior Calico Dreaming of a Cozy Forever Home :feet:
At 15 years young, this lovely calico lady has mastered the art of relaxation. Her favorite hobbies include: napping in sunny spots, curling up on soft blankets, and gently reminding you that life is best enjoyed at a slow and peaceful pace.
She’s a calm, low-maintenance companion who doesn’t ask for much—just a quiet place to rest, a warm lap to claim when she feels cuddly, and someone who appreciates her gentle presence.
Despite her age, she still has plenty of love to give. She enjoys simple pleasures, like gentle head scratches, watching the world go by from a comfy perch, and drifting in and out of dreamland. She’ll be happiest in a tranquil home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, adored, and unhurried.
If you’re looking for a serene, sweet, and deeply comforting companion, this senior calico beauty might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to spend her days snoozing and her nights purring by your side.
Give this precious girl the retirement she deserves. She’s waited long enough.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
