Meet Phoenix!
Phoenix is a stunning 3-year-old calico whose name perfectly reflects her incredible spirit—she truly knows how to rise from the ashes. Phoenix came from a home no animal should ever endure, and while her past is unclear, she arrived with some burns on her face that have now fully healed.

This shy girl is still finding her confidence, so she needs a patient, loving family to help her feel safe and build trust. She loves being petted but won’t seek out attention just yet—her courage is blossoming on her own timeline.

Phoenix gets along well with other cats and would thrive with a kind-spirited, mellow feline companion who gives her space to explore and grow. She’s nervous around dogs for now, but with time and patience, who knows what progress she could make?

Visits with animals will not be setup until we have an approved application on file. All animals are in foster homes.

The Wichita Animal Action League, or WAAL, is an all-volunteer, licensed rescue and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in November 2013 to advocate for all abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the Wichita, Kansas area. WAAL is an action oriented group dedicated to rescuing animals in crisis.
