Meet Dexter, a tall, lanky, but handsome boy who will happily join you for walks or daily yard time, and calmly wait for you to return home from work. He is ok in a home with cats and/or other calm dogs.
Dexter is a sensitive soul, he experiences significant anxiety and is easily startled and reactive to sudden movements and unpredictable actions—especially the fast movements often associated with young children, or hyperactive visitors. He will do best in a quiet, adult-only placement where he can feel safe and at peace, without the dynamics of a busy household.
Dexter is still our beloved family member, we were enjoying a quiet retirement with him, but due to recent, life-changing circumstances, our grandchildren are now in our home every day.
We cannot give him the quiet home he deserves anymore, but we are committed to finding him a happy next chapter. We will ask for a vet reference and proof you are clear to have a dog where you live.
