My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet “Indiana Jones”. She is a tiny female tuxedo kitty recently found living in a fast food parking lot in Indianapolis, taking shelter from harsh weather under a bush. Dirty, cold, broken whiskers, hungry and thirsty and most of all confused and looking for someone to love her! Restaurant employees said she appeared there and had been living in the parking lot almost 2 weeks without anyone looking for her, before a good Samaritan on a cross country road trip offered her a ride to California. She road in the car for 4 days without any complaints, had a bath in a hotel, stopped at a vet clinic to get her first round of shots and de worm treatment. She has been tested for FELV and FIV and is negative for both.
“Indie” or “Anna” is that to be about 9 months old has been given a good bill of health, and has recently been spayed and microchipped and will receive her rabies shot soon.
She is available for adoption through Forever Purr Cat Rescue. Cost of adoption is a tax deductible donation.
Indiana is extremely friendly and affectionate, loves pets and naps on laps and works hard at making biscuits. She loves to play with her toys and watching nature out of windows. She is quite talkative and her meows sound like little chirps.
She has very good manners using her litter box and scratching pads.
She is shy with other pets however quite curious with our cats - so we feel that with patience and the right family, she is young enough to slowly grow into a larger pet family, or could be considered as a perfect pet companion for someone who is home often.

More about this rescue

Who we are
Our mission is to save the lives of the countless unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens dumped at shelters in Southern California. We are a non-profit 501(c) (3)Rescue. We focus on those cats most in need whose time has run out; the sick, the injured, the old and otherwise considered “unadoptable."

What we do
Our foster caregivers and veterinarians provide medical care and rehabilitation until the cats and kittens are well enough to be adopted. We adopt only to families that will commit to an indoor life for our cats and kittens. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their shots and tested for FeLV/FIV.

Why we do it
We love cats! Saving lives are incredibly rewarding, but it is time-consuming and many sacrifices are made. Every life is valuable. When we see a cat in the shelter system in need of help, we don’t see the missing leg, goopy eyes and runny nose, we see a little bundle of fur that needs our help and our care and we take action.

We strive to educate the public about the proper care of cats and kittens. We receive calls daily from people looking to rehome their cat. Often times we can offer suggestions to help correct behaviors and situations that will result in the family keeping the cat. Sometimes someone simply needs to know that someone understands, cares and is willing to help.

How we do it
We rely solely on donations and the support of fosters in the community. All donations go directly to our cats and kittens. Donations cover veterinarian costs, medical boarding, special medications, food, litter, bedding and toys to keep our furry friends full, comfy, safe and loved.

Where do we go from here?
Our vision and long term goal will allow us to afford a no-kill sanctuary and be able to help more cats and kittens. We plan to offer educational training to better the community.
