Raymond is a distinguished one-year-old black male cat whose academic spirit emerged the moment he discovered that every bookshelf is a new frontier of knowledge and a perfect perch for observation. A naturally “sweet boy” with a curious mind, he approaches the world like a dedicated researcher, committed to exploring every corner, drawer, and rustling object within his domain.
Exceptionally chatty, Raymond offers running commentary on his discoveries, often delivering impromptu lectures at mealtimes, during hallway expeditions, or whenever a human appears to need his guidance. As a big boy with an even bigger personality, he fills the room with both presence and charm.
A gentle explorer with a learner’s heart, Raymond treats each day as a fresh experiment, every sunbeam as a study spot, and every human as a potential assistant in his ongoing pursuit of knowledge... and, occasionally, treats.

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.
Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.
We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.
Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Animal Friends Alliance is a non-profit, adoption guarantee cat and dog shelter and low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.
Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
