Hello there! I`m Lucy, a sweet senior girl who is a little nervous about my new living environment in the shelter. I came from a real home for several years and this is a bit difficult to get used to. I love sniff walks and know `stay`, `down`, and `come` commands. I like treats (maybe a bit too much!) and they think I am probably house-trained. I`m having some skin issues though, but the nice vets are helping it get better. I`m really hoping someone will take me into there home so I can heal more quickly with calmer nerves. I promise I won`t be any trouble. I just need a cozy place to sleep and a little attention. I`m also dog-friendly and have enjoyed meeting other dogs in play group. Really, I`m a great dog who found herself in a lonely situation.
FOSTER REASON: I am dealing with some allergies that are causing my skin to be a bit irritated. My doctors are helping me figure out what is going on and make me feel better. I need a foster home that can help keep an eye on me and bring me to the SPCA of Texas periodically for vet visits.

To adopt a pet from the SPCA of Texas, we not only help make love connections, but we then walk you through an adoption process that is geared to ensuring you and the pet are a great match. There is a contract to sign at the end of the process. Adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies 0-6 months: $150
Adult dogs 6 months or older: $75

The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations (which can include Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella), spay/neuter surgery, deworming treatment, initial heartworm preventative, a rabies tag, Free health examination within fourteen days of the adoption thanks to our partnership with VCA Animal Hospitals, a leash and a microchip. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult). Free week of training through Good Pup.
Kittens: $150
Cats: $75
