My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salazar isn’t just a big cat, he’s the kind of cat you bring home when what you really wanted was a dog. Towering in presence and overflowing with personality, Salazar is a loyal companion who follows his favorite humans from room to room with the devotion of a seasoned watchdog.

Friendly to a fault, he greets newcomers like old friends and offers quiet company or enthusiastic chatter depending on what the moment calls for. He’s an exceptional listener, tilting his head with sage seriousness as if contemplating every word… before responding with a well-timed trill or meow to keep the conversation going.

Talkative, affectionate, and steadfastly loyal, Salazar is more than a pet, he’s a furry confidant, a four-legged shadow, and the kind of “cat-dog” hybrid you can’t help but adore.

Additional adoption info

For our dogs, we are a foster-based organization that primarily helps our county government-operated shelter with surrender diversion, i.e. owners rehoming pets, help with behavior issues, etc. In September 2023 we opened a cat adoption center that supports the effort to keep more cats out of the shelter.
