My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sugar Cookie!

This sweet girl is the devoted mom of three puppies. Their former owner is 86 years old and could no longer care for mom and babies, so Sugar Cookie is now looking for a fresh start.

She’s a beautiful lemon beagle, about 3 years old and 34 lbs of gentle sweetness. She’s not housetrained yet, but she’s eager to learn — she just wants love, attention, and a family to call her own.

  • Sugar Cookie has a wonderful personality:
  • Great with dogs — she greeted her foster family’s dog with no issues
  • Calm and respectful with cats — a quick sniff and that was it
  • Loves people and enjoys being close
  • Did great in a crate overnight

She’s ready for a second chance and a family who will cherish her.

For more sweetness in your life, you need Sugar Cookie. Go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application (use laptop or computer).

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
