My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kahlua! This gorgeous gal may be 9 years old, but she`s definitely still up for an outdoor adventure. Kahlua is ready to go as soon as you pick up her leash and will show her excitement with tippy-tap toes and the cutest little hops. She`s fully potty trained, a polite walker on leash, and has experience living with other dogs and cats. Kahlua has lived with children in the past, but she seems to prefer the predictability and quiet of adults. Kahlua thrives with time outside exploring the world, sniffing, and doing the occasional zoomie. She tends to be pretty neutral to people and other dogs when outside, making her an easygoing trail buddy. Kahlua may be an outdoorsy gal, but she does have a taste for the finer things and can be a bit picky about her food. Why eat only kibble when there`s a world of other goodies? Looking for a best friend to spoil? Come down to the shelter to meet Kahlua during our open hours on Wednesday through Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.

More about this shelter

At the shelter you will have an opportunity to meet and visit with your potential new companion. Spend as much time as you need getting to know an animal. Adoption counselors will work with you to help find that perfect pet, but bear in mind that this may often require more than one visit. We are continually receiving new animals and evaluating their placements. If you do not find that perfect companion the first time you visit, you are sure to find him or her in subsequent visits.

An adoption counselor will answer all your questions and review important information with you. They can help you decide what size, age, breed and temperament will most successfully meet your expectations. They will review information about your pet's adjustment to his or her new home, housetraining, health concerns, vaccinations, nutrition, training, grooming, etc.

Because adopting an animal is a family decision, we ask that when possible you bring your entire family, including any resident dogs, to meet your potential companion.

The entire adoption process can be time consuming. But spending time getting to know your future companion and asking any questions before taking your new companion home will help to ensure a perfect match for the years ahead. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the process of bringing pets and people together!
