My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Maki and Ellie are a bonded pair and are looking for their forever home together! **

Say hello to Maki and her best pal Ellie—a bonded pair of mellow, affectionate rabbits ready to find their forever home together. Maki brings a touch of playful curiosity to the pair, enjoying her chew toys, gentle exploring, and the occasional binky to show she’s feeling extra hoppy.

These well-mannered ladies previously enjoyed plenty of free-roam time and, as older bunnies, have likely developed excellent litterbox skills. They thrive in calm spaces where they can stretch out, nibble on treats, and enjoy each other’s company at their own pace.

Maki and Ellie already have their perfect bunny buddy in one another, so now they’re looking for a home that will love them as the inseparable team they are. With patience, soft voices, and room to roam, they’ll reward you with sweet companionship and double the bunny charm.

Come meet this adorable pair and see if they’re the right fit for your home!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
