Meet handsome Ben, with his sleek grey coat. Ben (grey) and Jerry (orange polydactyl) are a bonded pair who have really come into their own in foster care. They started out cautious, but quickly discovered that life outside their safe room was worth exploring. Now they spend most of their day in the main living areas, choosing to be near their people and observing everything with bright curiosity.
Personality & Behavior:
These two aren’t lap cats, but they are absolutely social. They greet their foster with quick pets, follow people from room to room, and consistently choose to be in shared spaces. Their affection is quiet and subtle—they like companionship without needing constant physical contact.
They are devoted play enthusiasts. When they play, they go all in: pouncing, shredding, zooming, and taking their jobs as toy-destroyers very seriously. They also adore “Cat TV,” lounging on soft mats and watching bird videos with tail flicks and wide, engaged eyes.
Despite their independent streak, they enjoy having a predictable, cozy environment with spots to lounge, watch, and feel part of the household activity. Their confidence grows every day.
Compatibility With Dogs:
Ben and Jerry handled a calm dog introduction beautifully. They stayed relaxed and curious, but cautious Ben even approached the gate and gently touched noses with the dog. With proper, slow introductions, they should do well in a home with a respectful, cat-savvy dog.
Ideal Home:
These boys are perfect for someone who appreciates cats with independent but social personalities. They enjoy being near their humans, observing daily life, and joining the action in their own gentle way. They need mental stimulation, room to explore, and plenty of sturdy toys to satisfy their energetic play style. They must be adopted together, as they rely on each other for comfort and confidence.
