This 5-month-old sweetheart was rescued with his siblings in Puerto Rico, where there are far more dogs than available homes. Now safe in Virginia Beach, Caramelo is thriving — playful, social, and full of love.

• Healthy, happy, and ready for a forever home
• Adoption fee: $395
Caramelo has been living with his brother since arriving last weekend. While they get along wonderfully, their foster family only planned for one pup and is hoping to place Caramelo (or his brother Cameo) with another foster or adopter soon. We want to support them without overwhelming them.

Interview
One of our adoption coordinators will reach out to you to discuss what type of dog would best fit your needs and family.
Meet the Pet
Once approved, you will be connected with the animals foster to schedule an in-person meet and greet.
Take the Pet Home
After the meet and greet, if the animal is a good fit, a trial adoption will be scheduled where you bring the animal home for a trial period
Sign Adoption Contract
if after the trial period you wish to adopt the animal, you will complete our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
Pay Fee
Most adoption fees are $395 for dogs.
