Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Annie Oakley came to the shelter as a stray, she and two of her housemates had been to the shelter as puppies and been reclaimed. When all three of them landed at the shelter AGAIN, her two housemates were picked up but Annie was not - she had been SHOT by a neighbor and rushed to a full service vet clinic for care. Her previous owner was not willing to assume the costs - in fact, he didn't even ask if she was OK. She needed emergency surgery to repair the wound, it grazed her shoulder and took a decent sized chunk out of her. It was touch and go for a while but between the vet clinic and the HSNBA staff caring for her, she got healed up enough to go to a wonderful foster home to complete the healing process. After her ordeal, she is understandably a little nervous and unsure of new situations and people, but her foster dad reports she is just the sweetest, most cuddly dog around, totally house trained and great on a leash. Since we know she grew up with other dogs, we assume she is good with other dogs but don't know about cats. If you have a dog at home, we recommend arranging to do a Meet and Greet to see how they get along before committing to adoption. Annie will always have a small scar, but it's her badge of honor for the ordeal she's been through, and she deserves the most loving home. We'd love for you to come meet her!HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
