My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Heidi was brought in by her previous owner on 10/31/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Heidi is a sweet senior lady with a gentle soul. She can be shy at first-especially around new people, children, and dogs-but with patience and kindness, she truly blossoms. Once she feels safe, Heidi enjoys quiet companionship and gentle pets. She's lived peacefully with another cat before, so she may do well with a calm feline friend. Heidi would love a calm, understanding home where she can take things at her own pace. Go slow with her, and you'll soon earn the love and trust of a very special kitty.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
