My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Licorice and Clover are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Hi, I’m Licorice—a gentle little kitten who starts out shy but turns into the biggest lovebug once I feel safe. I may hide at first when people walk into a room, but if you sit quietly, I’ll come over with a soft nose boop to say hello. I purr so hard when you pet me that my whole body vibrates!

I adore chin scratches and cozy lap time, and if I think you’re not paying enough attention to me, I’ll politely plop myself on your book or computer until you notice. Fast movements can scare me, so I’m hoping for a patient home that understands I just need a slow, gentle approach.

I’m still learning about the world—other cats, kids, and new places—but I’m improving every single day. I use my litterbox perfectly, like cardboard scratchers, and love playing with wand toys. Most of all, I love being with my sister Clover. We do everything together, and she helps me feel brave.

If you’re looking for a sweet, tenderhearted kitten who will bond deeply once he trusts you, I’m your boy.

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
