Meet Baer: The Professional Cuddle Consultant & Bed Warmer
The Basics: Male | 6-7 Years Old | 46 lbs | Black Lab Mix (?)
Vibe: Soulful, calm, and deeply companionable.
If you are looking for a dog who doesn't demand the spotlight but quietly steals your heart, meet Baer. With his velvet ears and "seal-like" greeting noises, he is a master of cozy living. Baer is the definition of a "work-from-home" supervisor—he’ll nap at your feet all day, only waking up for a lunch break walk or to offer some adorable "tippy-taps" when you get excited.
Why You’ll Love Him:
Zero Accidents: He has impeccable house manners and can be left alone uncrated for 6-7 hours with no issues.
The Ultimate Snuggler: Baer believes he belongs under the covers with you. Sleeping in the big bed is non-negotiable for him (he’s a great heater!).
Social Butterfly: He greets guests with joy (and polite manners for the elderly), is good with dog-savvy cats, and respects gentle children.
The Ideal Match:
Baer panics in a crate, so he needs a crate-free home. He is looking for a predictable routine, someone who enjoys daily walks, and an owner who respects that he isn't a fan of car rides or having his paws touched.
If you want a dog who is settled, wise, and just wants to be near you (without being totally clingy), Baer is ready to curl up on your couch forever.

We are a non-profit dog rescue located in Clarksville, TN. Our founder and namesake, Mikaela, began fostering dogs in 2016 while serving in the United States Army because she has a life-long love for dogs. Because of her effort and hard work, she received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (1, 2). In May 2022, Mikaela decided the dogs often-overlooked, such as those with medical or behavioral conditions, needed special attention and Mikaela’s Mutt Motel was made official.
Since our inception in 2022, we have taken in (and placed) over 250 Mutts. Because of our focus on behavioral and medical concerns, our biggest expense is the medical care we provide to each Mutt from heartworm testing and prevention to spay/neuter procedures. Additionally, we have undertaken heartworm treatments, TPLO surgeries, and ocular surgeries. If we did not have the continued support of our followers, then none of this would be possible.
