Their adoption process

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines upto 12 weeks for puppies/kittens or initial and booster for adults, Rabies at time of spay/neuter and wellness exam.

We require an adoption application be completed where we will verify references and complete a home check. Upon approval an adoption contract as well as a spay/neuter contract if appropriate will be required.

Our adoption application can be found here: www.l4dr.org

We do not require that the adopter have a fenced yard, however, it is preferable. The main focus will be making sure the dog can be properly exercised and be kept safe.

American Staffordshire Terrier adoptions have an age limit of 25 as well as preferably a home with fenced yard.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Meet the Pet
  3. Home Check
  4. Pay Fee
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Take the Pet Home

Go meet their pets

Meet and greets available by appointment, but we also have adoption events for Dogs at local PetSmart's several times a month. Follow us on Facebook or visit our website for upcoming adoption events. Most of our cats and kittens are available for adoption at the Washington Square and Wilsonville PetSmarts every day.

More about this rescue

The name Lancaster Four is in honor of four puppies rescued from a backyard breeder in Lancaster California. They were very sick and malnourished. These dogs sparked an investigation into animal abuse in the foster's home where 21 dogs were found in various degrees of illness/injuries. Unfortunately 2 of the puppies passed away.

Lancaster Four Dog Rescue began by rescuing the two surviving puppies and their parents. The puppies were sold with no contracts or spay/neuter agreements. The mother was sold on craigslist un-spayed without a home check or contract for $60.00 all of which went against the requirements set forth before placing with this rescue. Another dog was set to be euthanized because the rescue refused to reclaim the dog.

We continue to work with adopters of other dogs from this so called rescue and assist them in whatever they need.
