If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted Winter from Polk County Animal Control in 2021. She is six years old right now.
Winter is incredibly well behaved and she loves to sun bathe, sleep under blankets, and play tug-of-war. She is very food motivated and loves a good belly rub.
She is very obedient and very loyal. She knows all of her basic commands (and more), she is crate trained, potty trained, and car trained. She does not ever want to do anything to upset you.
Unfortunately, our other female dog that we have had since she was a puppy, never truly accepted Winter. She has tried to fight Winter a few times and it is just not realistic for us to keep Winter in these conditions. We want her to be in a home where she will receive the most love possible.
