When a resident found kittens in a box on her porch in the cold, she didn’t know where to turn. After reaching out to several rescues, Forgotten Cats answered the plea—and not only saved the kittens, but also their mother Calliope and father Hector. All six are now safe, warm, and thriving in rescue care.
Onyx, just 12 weeks old when she was brought in from the porch with her three sisters, received all the veterinary care she needed. Though she and her family were frightened at first, gentle handling, soft beds, and lots of toys helped them blossom into sweet, purring kittens.
Onyx is a female black beauty with a tiny star-shaped patch of white on her chest—a perfect little sparkle to match her personality. She’s a true lap cat, happiest when curled up in loving arms. She purrs endlessly during cuddle time, then bounces off for the next bout of play before returning to the nearest warm lap.
Her foster home included other cats and a standard poodle, and Onyx got along wonderfully with everyone. She’s a confident, affectionate kitten ready to bring comfort, companionship, and plenty of purrs to her forever family.

Submit Application
People can view our cats on-line and can see some of them in the adoption centers. An application can be for a particular cat or a TBD.
Approve Application
Processing takes about 3-5 business days. Upon approval, a meet & great and/or adoption will be arranged.
Meet the Pet
An approved app is needed to meet cats that are with fosters & in our clinic/shelters and may be needed to meet adoption center cats.
Sign Adoption Contract
The adoption counselor will review the paperwork and the medical form with the adopter. This is a good time to ask questions before signing.
Pay Fee
Adoption fees are based upon the age of the cat - kitten, adult, 7+ yrs. - how many cats are being adopted and special needs cats.
Take the Pet Home
An adopted pet must be taken home in a carrier. If there are other pets at home, please give them a slow intro period of about 2 weeks.
