This helps Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc. with pet care costs.
- Loves scratches and will arch his back up for more when you're scratching him there
- May tend to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely warm up more in a home environment with patience and time
- Young, noisy or busy kids may be too much for him, so he may do best in a more mature home
- Has struggled to share his things with other dogs in his previous home; will need to be the only dog in his home
- We don't know his history with kids or cats
This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. Click here for tips for making a comfortable life for senior pets.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
