My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

---

- Loves spending time with people and loves butt scratches

- Super into cuddles and sometimes thinks he's a lap dog; will snuggle his face between you and the couch

- Sleeps in bed with his family and can be a bit of a bed hog

- Enjoys chasing tennis balls and chewing on soft squeaky toys and KONGs

- Takes treats very gently

- LOVES spray cheese

- Gets VERY excited when guests come to the house

- Does best with a harness on walks

- Does a great job traveling in the car

- Foster family says he is potty trained and crate trained and will respond to the command "kennel up," just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine

- Used to staying in his kennel while his foster family is away from home

- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended)

- Tends to be socially awkward and can be particular about his dog friends; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs and may prefer to be the only dog in his home (dog intro required)

- Enjoyed playing with a puppy that visited his foster home

- We don't know his history with cats

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
