My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Ghostface arrived:
Ghostface was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on 11/30/2025.

Why Ghostface is the one for you:
Ghostface is a striking, confident rooster with plenty of personality, and he's surprisingly tolerant of handling for such a proud fellow. He enjoys human company and doesn't mind being gently picked up or guided around, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a charismatic barnyard friend. Because Ghostface prefers to be the star of the show, he'll need a home where he can be the only rooster-but that just means he can give all his charm and attention to you. With Ghostface around, you'll have a loyal, lively presence who brings character and warmth to every day.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
