Meet Freya – The Pocket-Sized Husky Queen

Freya may be small in stature at just 39 pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—this little lady is all Husky heart and sass! Originally a stray who found her way into the shelter, Freya joined our program when space opened, and she’s been dazzling us ever since.

Personality

  • Sweet, sassy, and a total boss lady
  • Loves to wrestle and play with other dogs
  • Zoomies are a daily ritual—she’ll keep you laughing!
  • Affectionate: gives the best hugs and adores belly rubs

Home Life

  • Enjoys quiet time in her den or crate, happily chewing on benebones
  • Crate-trained but not destructive when left out
  • Completely housebroken
  • Vocal only when she really wants something (like dinner!)

Compatibility

  • Best in a home that can supervise or separate her from other dogs during meals and toy time
  • Good on leash—no fenced yard required if you’re committed to regular potty breaks and exercise
  • As a Husky, she should never be off leash unless in a securely fenced area

Fun Facts

  • Short and petite—like a “mini Husky”
  • Estimated 8–10 months old, though she carries herself with a maturity beyond her age

Freya is the perfect blend of spunky playmate and snuggly companion. If you’re ready for a pint-sized Husky with a big personality, Miss Freya is waiting to zoom her way into your heart!

Freya is located in MD. We can transport a few hours away. Adoption area along the eastern states.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Additional adoption info

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
